I am beyond excited to be getting one of the new M1 Pro MacBook Pro computers. Specifically, I am getting this model of MacBook Pro. This will replace my current Metabox laptop which is 8 years old. This new MacBook looks phenomenal. A beautiful 16.2 inch screen running at a resolution of 3456 x 2234 pixels. This is over 7.7 million pixels in total! The screen has a peak brightness of 1600 nits and a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio. This model comes with a 10 core M1 Pro CPU, a 16 core GPU, a 16 core neural engine, 16gb of RAM, and a 512gb SSD. The GPU is equivalent in power to a GTX 1650. This is not too shabby when you consider it is running in a Mac. By all accounts, the M1 Pro is significantly faster than the M1 chip. Add to this a battery life of up to 21 hours (my Metabox had a battery life of 45 minutes when brand new!) and you have a laptop which is an absolute beast. I am very much looking forward to getting this computer and doing some app development with it. These computers are going to sell like hotcakes. Get one while you can!
